Maren Medical Group Founded To Provide Patient-first Care in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties
New Physician Practice to Focus on Personalized Care for the Inland Empire Community
REDLANDS, CA – Maren Medical Group is excited to announce the launch of its new primary care practice, dedicated to serving the communities of San Bernardino and Riverside counties starting in June 2025. Founded by Dr. Albert Arteaga, a respected leader in both the healthcare and local communities, Maren Medical Group prioritizes a patient-first approach. Maren’s Beaumont location will feature esteemed local physicians, Drs. Omar Bashir, DO, and Sherif Khalil, MD. A second clinic will open in Yucaipa on the same day, initially operating from an interim location before relocating to a newly-built, permanent facility a few months later, under the leadership of Dr. Mehdi Jahromi.
Dr. Arteaga says, “Maren is to be anchored in the needs of patients and the needs of this community. We are committed to delivering a better model of healthcare, one that prioritizes the needs of patients while providing providers with the support they need to succeed.”
At the heart of Maren Medical Group’s mission is a belief that healthcare is inherently local and personal. “We’re committed to doing what’s right, not what’s expedient—and we’re notably based locally, here in the Inland Empire,” said Dr. Jahromi. “Every decision we make, from the services we offer to the care we provide, is guided by the question: ‘How will this serve our community?’”
A Foundation Built on Trust and Empathy
Maren Medical Group’s philosophy is grounded in building relationships that are rooted in empathy, respect, honesty and transparency, explained Dr. Bashir.
“Healthcare should be human first,” he added. “We reject the notion that efficiency requires impersonal systems. Every patient must be treated with the care and attention they deserve, with space for meaningful doctor/patient connections that support healing. And that can only happen when providers and patients work together with shared purpose and mutual trust.”
Simplifying Access to Care and Supporting Providers
As part of its commitment to making healthcare simpler and more accessible, Maren Medical Group will strive to reduce the complexities often associated with modern medical practices. “We want to remove barriers, encourage communication, and make the process as clear as possible, so both patients and our providers can focus on what truly matters: care,” said Dr. Khalil. “In every patient interaction, our goal is to be a trusted partner in all aspects of their healthcare journey.”
Excellence and Innovation in Care
Ultimately, Maren Medical Group’s team is united by a shared vision for the future of healthcare. “Excellence is our baseline,” said Maren CEO Duane Whittington. “We’re investing in the success of our providers and are dedicated to creating a professional home where they can thrive,” Whittington added.
“To retain the best doctors and practice the best medicine, the Inland Empire needs a better model for healthcare. Maren is built to be just that.”
